they know their value.”

ImageAccording to a recent study done by After-school Alliance, there are approximately 15 million children left unsupervised every day after school. This would leave several children on their own between the hours of 3-6:00 pm vulnerable, and responsible for making imperative decisions without the supervision or governance of an adult. Many studies have shown the positive aspects and benefits of children participating in after school programs, for example, improved academic competency, and decreased percentages of teen violence, enhanced self-esteem, and increases in standardized test scores. Unfortunately, for many reasons, most cities do not house programs to accommodate those children in need.
