Meet the Sr. Management

Gardenia Brown Gardenia Brown
Vice President of Operations

Mrs. Brown’s association with the Showell Foundation dates back to its inception in 2004. Before Ms. Brown accepted her current position with the Foundation, her relationship with the company originated as a volunteer and financial supporter.  She is, and has been, committed to accomplishing the goals of the Foundation through its programs that assist young people in becoming successful, well-rounded and productive leaders, and creating positive change in the lives of everyone.

Mrs. Brown is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where she received a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Social Science.   Before becoming Vice President of Operations for the Foundation, she worked at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Medicine for many years and in numerous capacities.  Most recently, as a certified Research Coordinator for the Ivy League Institution, she managed the operations of federally funded grants.  Her research experience is in the area of obesity and efforts to minimize the associated co-morbidities such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, and diabetes. 

Mrs. Brown’s community involvement knows no boundaries and her passion to improve the quality of life for all is evident in her service.  She has represented the University and the Foundation in various community settings including church seminars and workshops, national conventions, and public health symposiums.  She has delivered presentations and information sessions to diverse audiences on health promotion, leading and maintaining healthy lifestyles, and reducing at-risk health behaviors in minority populations. Her experience working in the community also consists of volunteering at various academic institutions to strengthen the academic and social skills of middle and high school students.  Additionally, she has donated much of her time reading to and speaking with patients at a nursing facility in Philadelphia.

Mrs. Brown completed her certification in Biblical Counseling Training from Christian Research and Development, and is currently continuing her education by taking advanced courses in psychology.


Sabina Chatterjee Sabina Chatterjee
Director of Business Development

Ms. Chatterjee became the Showell Foundation’s Director of Business Development in June 2008. She received her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Rutgers University. During this time she volunteered at the Dooley House for drug addicted and abandoned infants in Camden, NJ. She participated in a program with the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) for students to perform experimental cardiovascular surgery. Additionally, as an undergraduate student, Ms. Chatterjee participated in a pilot joint program with Rutgers University and Coriell Institute in Camden to conduct cell tissue culture research. She continued her graduate education at Drexel University where she received her post-baccalaureate certification in Interdisciplinary Health Science (IHS) and went on to serve as an Ambassador for this program to mentor incoming students.

In addition to her Psychology and Healthcare background, Ms. Chatterjee spent eight years in Property Management and Real Estate where she acted as Chief Executive Account Manager, Budget Developer and Analyst, Director of Public Relations and Marketing Specialist. In addition to managing multi-million dollar assets, she established business relationships with major corporations like Lockheed Martin and Accenture.  Her vast business knowledge and experience also led her to create promising and long-term relationships with various Philadelphia professional athletic teams. 

Ms. Chatterjee also serves as a Community Liaison and Community Health Worker (CHW) within South Jersey. As an activist for Public Health, she holds seminars within the Camden Community and surrounding area to promote community health and awareness on such topics as diabetes, hypertension, Alzheimer’s disease, and HIV in conjunction with Abigail House for Nursing and Sub-Acute Rehabilitation. She has partnered with the Community Health Worker Institute (CHWI) and Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) and is on an Advisory Council and Task Force that is currently working towards a “Patient Navigator Program” which will employ Community Health Workers to bridge the healthcare gap. Ms. Chatterjee is also a CHW mentor for 1st year medical students at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of NJ (UMDNJ) where she assists them in the development of their Community Implemented Primary Care projects.

Ms. Chatterjee’s goal is to promote self-growth and development as well as health awareness with a spiritual component to individuals of all ages through the Showell Foundation.
